Reports – Arsenal tell Palermo: Make it £7m and Joel Campbell is yours

Arsenal have told Palermo to double their bid for Joel Campbell, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side are keen on the Costa Rica international, who is set to be allowed to leave the Emirates this summer.

Palermo have made an offer of £3.5m for the forward, who is also attracting interest from clubs in Spain.

But, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners have told the Italian club to double their bid to £7m.

Palermo had originally been considering a loan move for Campbell but their motives have changed after discovering the 23-year-old could be available on a permanent deal.

Campbell made just four appearances for Arsenal last season, while also spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Villarreal.
