Wenger assures Arsenal fringe man he will get more chances

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has promised Lukas Podolski that he will get a chance to shine in the upcoming weeks.

The Germany international has struggled to break into the Gunners team this season, making just six appearances in the Premier League.

That has led to speculation that Podolski could be in off in January, with Bundesliga side Schalke and Serie A champions Juventus reportedly interested.

However, after the 29-year-old found the net twice against Galatasaray on Tuesday in Arsenal's 4-1 win, Wenger admits he will give Podolski a chance to showcase his talent.

"He is getting back into good form," said Wenger.

"There is a lot of competition upfront and I understand his frustration but he has to be ready to help the club. He will get a chance."
