Wednesday night in South Wales was an eventful one for Manchester City, who won a ninth straight match to start the season, knocking off Swansea City from the EFL Cup and advancing to the fourth round. Minutes after the match, the Round of 16 draw took place, and the Citizens will face Manchester United in the second Derby of this early season.

City players took to social media after the game to comment on the victory against the Swans, as well as on the United draw. Here's a round-up of the Citizens' social media posts:

Gael Clichy, who scored City's first goal against Swansea, spoke to the media, and he gave his take on the game, the Academy players and Vincent Kompany's performance and possible injury.

"We could have avoided the goal as in England you never know until the final whistle. Overall we controlled the game but we didn’t start well. The first half wasn’t good enough but then we started to play in the second half.

“The victory is the most important thing though because if you lose you are out of the competition so now we can rest and look forward to Saturday.

“The first half wasn’t good enough but in the second half we came back with more desire so we have to keep playing like this. It was a good night for everybody including the young players and everyone is happy now.

“The academy provides some good players like we’ve seen tonight. It was nice to see the young players and it’s good for the fans to see the future of the club.

“[On Kompany] Most of the time when you come back after a long period you don’t play for more than an hour so I think he was probably just a bit tired and hopefully it will just be a matter of days.

“Vincent is Vincent. Fully fit he’s one of the best centre halves in Europe and we all know his quality. We’ve played well so far but having someone like him is a real bonus.”
