Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho haven't really reignited their old rivalry since both came to Manchester, but they're bound to do battle on the transfer market this summer.

According to a report from Kicker Magazine in Germany, both Manchester City and Manchester United have made "concrete inquiries" about Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, one of the most promising young players in the Bundesliga.

Kimmich was signed by Pep Guardiola last season and became an integral part of the Catalan's system at Bayern, but has fallen down in Carlo Ancelotti's pecking order this season and could be looking for a move away from Bavaria.

The link with City is easy to understand given Kimmich's relationship with Pep and his immense versatility: Joshua started out as a midfielder, but finished last season with amazing performances at center-back and is currently the starting right-back for the German national team. The 22-year-old can defend, pass and make incisive attacking runs with ease, and his ability to play multiple positions is what Guardiola likes the most about him.

Jose Mourinho also loves the player, and since he wants to add more depth to his midfield during the summer, the Portuguese manager would like to bring Kimmich to United.

If Bayern is willing to sell, which is unclear at the moment, Kimmich wouldn't go for a cheap price, but he'd be an amazing signing. It's safe to say he'd prefer a move to City to reunite with Pep, but we can't underestimate United in the transfer market.

We do know that Pep loves him, he loves Pep, and the need of a player of his abilities is dire for us. Let's sign him up, shall we Pep?
