Manchester City and Manchester United were expected to fight by themselves for the Premier League this season, given the squads they have, the managers they have, the money they spend and the expectations put on both of them.

Instead, both are out of the title race and won't win the FA Cup, and both teams are still yet to qualify for the Champions League. It's a disappointing season for both, although Mourinho can still win a second trophy in his debut season while Pep Guardiola won't get any prizes.

But this is Pep Guardiola vs. José Mourinho, so every game between them is very fun to watch. The Manchester Derby has happened twice this season: City won at Old Trafford in the Premier League while United won at home in the EFL Cup, which they eventually conquered in February.

Their third and final meeting this season takes place on Thursday at Etihad Stadium, and if there won't be any titles decided here, two important things will be up for grabs: a big step towards European qualification, and bragging rights.

After all, this Pep vs. José. One of them has to win.

A win will put City in third place, above Liverpool and with a game in hand on the Reds, so Guardiola will most definitely choose his strongest team possible to pick up three points on Thursday's Derby. He won't have David Silva, likely to miss out with a knee injury, but Gabriel Jesus could be back on the bench and both Vincent Kompany and Yaya Touré are set to start despite playing 120 minutes in the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal at Wembley.

City will look to dominate possession and find Sergio Agüero in the box. The Argentine loves to score in Derbies, and with Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané serving as creators behind him, Agüero may have a few chances to break down David De Gea. United will field a tall, physical, pacey team to hit City on the counter and hurt them on set pieces. Both coaches have to deal with injuries, but they still have very good players available.

It'll be Classic Pep vs. José tactics, and it promises to be fun.
