Arsene Wenger has blasted Arjen Robben following Arsenal’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich – branding him ‘a good diver’.
The Dutchman was subject of a verbal attack from Wenger following the first leg of the Champions League last 16 at the Emirates Stadium.
And when Robben went down to win Bayern a late penalty in the second leg, Wenger looked visibly furious on the touchlines.
The anger was carried into his post-match press conference, with Wenger going to town on Robben and his apparent diving.

‘Robben is very good at getting the maximum of nothing,’ said Wenger.
‘He is a great player, but also a good diver.
‘He gets past the player, then he actually slows down, looking for the foul.’
It’s not the first time that Robben has been caught up in a diving storm, with the player earning a reputation for going down easily during his time at Chelsea, earlier in his career.
