Lukas Podolski looks set to leave Arsenal this month after boss Arsene Wenger hinted at an acceptable bid from Inter Milan.

The German has found playing time hard to come by this term and speculation has been mounting over his Gunners future.

But despite Wenger insisting before Christmas reports of Inter’s interest were ‘not serious’, the Frenchman has now conceded Podolski could be on his way to Serie A.

‘The first proposal [from Inter] was farcical,’ Wenger said. ‘After, they came back a bit more serious. ‘Inevitable’ in a transfer is very difficult to say, but we’ll see what happens.’

Reports yesterday suggested Podolski had stormed out of Arsenal’s training ground this week, with the club seemingly blocking a move to the San Siro.

And although he categorically rubbished the rumours via his Instagram account, it seems the German international may yet be on his way out of the Emirates, with an initial loan deal, followed by a £5m permanent transfer to Inter being reported.
