Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed Sunday’s Capital One Cup final against Tottenham is the ‘most important game of his career’.

The Blues face off against their London rivals at Wembley as Mourinho aims to pick up his first trophy in nearly three years, the longest barren run of the Portuguese’s managerial career.

‘This cup final is the most important cup final of my career,’ said Mourinho. ‘More important than the Champions League. More important than the other cups I’ve played before.

‘Do I look stupid? It’s because it’s the next one. The next one. I just think about this game. We have a final to win on Sunday and nothing else matters.

‘I don’t care about medals. I care about the club winning trophies and me and the players winning trophies.’
