Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is tipping Gabriel Paulista to develop into a ‘top player’ in his first full season at the club next season.

The Brazilian centre-back moved to the Emirates in an £11million move from Villarreal in January but was limited to just six league appearances for the Gunners.

The 24-year-old is yet to make his international bow for Brazil but was called up to the national squad in March shortly after completing his deal to Wenger’s side.

And Wenger believes there’s far more to come from the defender next season after he was given time to settle in London last term.

‘I believe Gabriel will be a revelation,’ said Wenger. ‘I am convinced he will be a top player and we’ll see more of him next season.

‘As well, I don’t like to forget players like Calum Chambers who had a very good start to the season and who will come back to a very good level.’
