Arsenal’s Theo Walcott can still become a prolific Premier League goal-scorer, according to his manager Arsene Wenger.

The England international is enjoying a productive period for both club and country, having scoring 11 goals in his last 11 starts for the Gunners and finding the net twice for England during the international break.

Walcott gave Arsenal the lead in yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Stoke, and Wenger hailed the forward’s ‘technical ability’ for the goal.

‘Theo Walcott scored a great goal,’ said Wenger. ‘It required technical ability to finish. He can become a prolific goalscorer.

‘The quality of his movement, the quality of his control and the quality of his finish was absolutely outstanding. It’s a real striker’s goal.’
