Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Danny Welbeck is fit again after a knee injury that’s kept him out since April.
The 25-year-old recently took part in an under-21s game and is fit but just lacking match practice.
‘He’s done quite well, I think he’s very close,’ Wenger said. ‘Fitness-wise he’s there, it’s just sharpness he needs.’
The Gunners will have to do without midfielders Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla for a while longer, with the pair both out for another three to four weeks.
‘I don’t count on Cazorla and Wilshere in the next three or four weeks,’ Wenger said.
