Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted French giants Paris Saint-Germain are the favourites to win their Champions League group.

The Gunners were drawn with PSG, Swiss side FC Basle and Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets on Thursday.

Arsenal will fancy their chances of making it through to the knockout stages but Wenger conceded his side could have to settle up for second place behind the Parisans.

‘Basically we got what we were expected. Maybe PSG is the favourite but we want to qualify,’ Wenger said.

‘It is a good test for us to play PSG. Let’s hope we can get a good first result. They have hit headlines in transfer market.’

Wenger was asked about the two lower-ranked teams in the group and said: ‘Ludogorets we do not know a lot about them.

‘Look at Basle’s record against English teams and you become cautious.’

Arsenal face PSG at the Parc de Princes on September 13 in the opening game.
