Chelsea ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Arsenal in their opening pre-season fixture and Jeremie Boga was one of the standout stars for the Premier League champions.

Michy Batshuayi made a strong case to replace Diego Costa as Chelsea’s leading striker with two goals and an assist for Willian’s opener shortly before half-time.

But Boga, who replaced Pedro in the 29th minute after the Spaniard suffered a concussion following a collision with David Ospina, also shone as Arsene Wenger’s side struggled to cope with their rivals.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to make his official debut for Chelsea’s senior side, didn’t look out of place in Antonio Conte’s attack as he constantly tormented Arsenal with his close control and impressive dribbling.

Arsenal’s new summer signing Sead Kolasinac was the first one to get a taste of Boga’s skills as the Ivory Coast international effortlessly slipped the ball in between the left-back’s legs before drawing a foul close to the area.

In the closing stages, it was Francis Coquelin’s turn to be on the receiving end of Boga’s trickery as the midfielder sent the Arsenal man in different directions before nutmegging him.

But even before the nutmegs, Boga was running riot in central midfield against Aaron Ramsey and sold the Wales international with a sublime feint in the first half.

If Arsenal’s players weren’t aware of Boga before this, they certainly will be now.
