Daniel Sturridge has assured Liverpool fans his latest injury concern is nothing to be worried about.

The striker scored an audacious chip against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night in a 3-0 win for Liverpool, but pulled up directly after the goal.

But, the 27-year-old was quick to dismiss the suggestion he could be set for another stint on the sidelines before he left the Allianz Arena.

‘I think it’s just fatigue to be honest, so I’ll be okay,’ Sturridge said after the game.

‘I’m feeling great, I put in the work, I trained a lot in the summer.

‘I’ve not missed many sessions here, they’ve look after me.

‘We’ve down triple sessions and I’ve trained almost every single session so I’m feeling great.

‘The best I have for a while so looking forward to the season and hoping we can have some success this season.’

Liverpool issued a statement on Wednesday morning that Sturridge would not require a scan and that he was not ruled out of any games beyond tonight’s Audi Cup final.

Sturridge’s Liverpool career has been hampered by injury with the attacker often spending months in the treatment room.

The England international has made just 25 Premier League starts for his side in the past three seasons.

Injury has consistently struck Sturridge, but he and the Liverpool coaching team are hopeful he can shake off his fitness woes this season.

The win over Bayern is the sixth game of Liverpool’s pre-season with the Reds yet to lose a match.

Liverpool will play two more friendlies before the new season kicks off with a trip to Watford on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.
