Arsenal risk losing out on signing Thomas Lemar after Barcelona registered their interest in the Monaco midfielder, according to reports in France.

Arsene Wenger’s side have had three bids rejected for the 21-year-old this summer, with the latest being an offer worth £50 million.

L’Equipe now claim that Barcelona are targeting Lemar with the £198m they received from Neymar’s world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

But as well as Barca, Liverpool and Manchester City have also made it known that they are interested in a deal for the France international.

Lemar, however, has been alerted to Barcelona’s interest and is now giving serious consideration to the prospect of a move to Camp Nou this summer.

Earlier this summer, reports had claimed that Lemar is open to joining Arsenal, despite the club not being in the Champions League for the upcoming season.

But Barcelona presents a greater attraction for the midfielder, which could mean that Wenger will miss out on one of his priority targets.

An alternative for Arsenal would be to sign Riyad Mahrez, but Leicester City are demanding £50m for the Algerian winger and Wenger is facing competition from Roma.
