Arsenal’s club-record singing Alexandre Lacazette has been tipped to win the Golden Boot in his debut season in the Premier League by Michael Owen.
The France international striker joined from Lyon earlier this summer in a £52million deal and has hit the ground running in pre-season with two goals to his name already.
Harry Kane finished last season as the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 29 goals and is a leading contender again, while Lacazette will also face competition from Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata and possibly his own teammate Alexis Sanchez.
Last 5 Golden Boot Winners
2016/17 – Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur – 29 goals
2015/16 – Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur – 25 goals
2014/15 – Sergio Aguero – Manchester City – 26 goals
2013/14 – Luis Suarez – Liverpool – 31 goals

Owen, who scored 150 Premier League goals for Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle, believes Lacazette is the sort of striker Arsenal have been missing for some considerable time.
Asked who he thinks will win the Golden Boot this season, Owen told the Premier League’s official website: ‘Alexandre Lacazette is a proven goalscorer.
‘He had the highest chance conversion rate in Europe’s top five leagues last season and Arsenal create plenty of chances, so he should get plenty of opportunities.’
