Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stoked the fire before his side’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea by claiming the Blues will struggle to match their title-winning points total this season.

Antonio Conte’s side won their fourth Premier League title in May, finishing on 93 points after 38 matches.

The Blues failed to claim the double after losing to Arsenal in the FA Cup final and face the Gunners again on Sunday at Wembley in the Community Shield.

And, though Wenger believes Chelsea will challenge again for the title, he says increased competition next season will make things more difficult for Conte’s men.

‘I expect them to fight for the championship,’ said Wenger.

‘But will they make as many points? I don’t know.

‘You could expect that some teams will be stronger as well and take points from them.’
