Anthony Martial’s cousin Jemael has handed Manchester United fans a huge boost by revealing the French ace will be staying at Old Trafford this season.

The Red Devils ace was heavily linked with a move away from the club, with Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan both making enquiries about his services during the summer.

Jose Mourinho rejected both offers out of hand and was believed to tell those chasing Martial that their pursuits would not prove favourable and his cousin, who is also a journalist, confirmed that he’s going nowhere.

The tweet, written in French, read: ‘For Manchester United, Anthony leaving is not an option, even on loan.

‘They rely on him.’

The France international enjoyed an impressive cameo off the bench in Manchester United’s 4-0 thumping of West Ham on the opening day of the season, scoring and providing an assist in just 10 minutes on the pitch.

He saw his game time limited to just 18 Premier League starts in Mourinho’s debut campaign in charge but if his performances continue to be at that high level, he can expect to feature a lot more.
