Jurgen Klopp has admitted he cannot reveal the full truth behind Philippe Coutinho’s potential move to Barcelona.

Liverpool have already rejected two bids for their star man but are stealing themselves for a third offer which is anticipated to be in excess of £100million.

The Premier League club have steadfastly denied the player is for sale, despite the admission that Coutinho handed in a transfer request last week amid reports the player has told his manager he will go on strike to force a move.

Barcelona general manager Pep Segura revealed on Wednesday that the La Liga giants were ‘close’ to completing a deal for the Brazil international but Klopp has again denied that is the case, although he hinted he is being forced to keep some key details secret.

LIVERPOOL TRANSFERS IN

Dominic Solanke (compensation, from Chelsea), Mohamed Salah (£34.3m, from Roma), Andrew Robertson (£10m, from Hull)

LIVERPOOL TRANSFERS OUT

Andre Wisdom (£4.5m, to Derby) Tom Brewitt (free, to Middlesbrough), Jake Brimmer, Jack Dunn, Aju Gomes, Kane Lewis, Alex Manninger and Adam Phillips (all released) Lucas Leiva (£5m, to Lazio) Kevin Stewart (undisc, to Hull) Ryan Fulton (free, to Hamilton Academical)

‘When I asked the medical department how Coutinho has been doing then no complaints. It’s a very difficult situation, but we have nothing new to say. It’s not always easy to say the 100% truth,’ said Klopp, who will be without the 25-year-old again this weekend due to an ongoing back injury.

‘I have no reaction [to Segura]. I don’t know why anybody has said this. I have never met Segura.

‘The whole market is difficult. When I am not on the pitch or am not thinking about training, I am thinking about what we can do. If the transfer window ended yesterday, we would have a team which I like and which we can play football with. It is a good team in this moment. We will see what we can do.’
