Manchester United take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday and do so as league leaders.

Jose Mourinho’s men were the last to play on the opening weekend of the season but put in arguably the performance of the first round with a resounding 4-0 win against West Ham United at Old Trafford.

It’s early days but there were onimous signs in the Red Devils’ victory that Mourinho’s side is starting to take shape but Swansea will provide a stern test on their own patch.

Mourinho could be tempted to select an unchanged side but here’s how United *should* line-up.

Defence

West Ham proved an ideal opposition at Old Trafford on Sunday and the Hammers rarely threatened in a disappointing display for Slaven Bilic’s men.

Victor Lindelof was left out of United’s 18-man squad and the Swede is likely to be omitted again as Mourinho allows his new signing to bed in at the club.

It means there’s likely to be few changes in United’s backline and the only spot up for grabs is at left-back.

Daley Blind got the nod ahead of Matteo Darmian against the Hammers because the Dutchman provides a greater attacking threat.

With a three-man midfield ahead of him, United can afford Blind’s adventure again.

Midfield

Mourinho opted for a two-man midfield against West Ham and it gave United a far greater attacking threat.

However, the Portuguese boss is likely to set-up differently away from home this season and a three-man midfield seems wise in Wales.

Nemanja Matic was man-of-the-match on Sunday and is a certainty to start at the base of United’s midfield.

Ander Herrera was an unused sub in the 4-0 win but he brings energy and purpose to United’s midfield – especially in away games.

Swansea are likely to set-up with a three in midfield and it’s imperative that Mourinho’s men aren’t overrun.

Pobga – fresh from opening his goal account for the season – can start as the most advanced in the midfield and the two behind him will give him freedom to play.

Attack

Marcus Rashford provided Romelu Lukaku with a classy assist for his first Premier League goal in red colours but the teenager had a mixed game against West Ham.

The 19-year-old lacked a cutting edge in the first half and improved in the second when the game opened up.

Rashford is a fabulous talent but Anthony Martial deserves to start after a fantastic cameo in the 4-0 win. Martial expertly finished one chance and created Pogba’s goal in just 15 minutes.

On the other side, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is likely to be pushed out from the centre onto the right in place of Juan Mata.

Romelu Lukau, of course, should start up front after grabbing a brace on his Premier League debut for the club.
