Liverpool are weighing up a transfer bid for Fortuna Sittard centre-back Perr Schuurs, according to reports.

Schuurs has made 25 appearances for Eerste Divisie outfit Fortuna Sittard since breaking into the first-team last year but the promising 17-year-old is already being linked with a move away from the Netherlands.

The Daily Mail suggest Liverpool are strongly considering an offer for the teenage defender, as well as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Schuurs had a trial with Liverpool back in May and impressed Reds coaches who sent positive feedback to Anfield.

Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are also understood to be expressing an interest in the highly-rated youngster.

The Merseyside outfit have been scouring the market for defensive reinforcements, with Schuurs’ compatriot Virgil van Dijk the club’s priority target for the 2017/18 campaign earlier this summer.

However, Liverpool were forced to issue an official apology after making an illegal approach for the Southampton star.
