Arsenal’s move for Thomas Lemar could be back on with Monaco reportedly open to letting the winger leave the club, according to reports in France.

The Gunners have been frustrated in their efforts to sign Lemar this summer and have had two bids rejected for the 22-year-old.

Monaco have sold the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva already this summer and told Arsenal that Lemar was not for sale.

However, Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho are believed to be closing in on moves to Paris Saint-Germain and there has been a clear change in strategy from the Ligue 1 giants.

Le 10 Sport claim Monaco are now considering letting Lemar leave in what could be a manic final ten days of the window for Leonardo Jardim’s side.

Arsene Wenger is happy with his squad and is focused on shipping out deadwood in the final days of the window.

However, he admitted last week that he would re-enter the market for an ‘exceptional’ player and Lemar would certainly come into that bracket.

‘We are open to an exceptional player,’ Wenger told Sky Sports. ‘However, just to remind you we have 33 players here and they are all good players.

‘That’s unmanageable so to bring one more player in for the sake of it would be stupid, but if we find an exceptional one, we will do it.’
