Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that Eden Hazard is available for selection for this weekend’s trip to Leicester City.

The 26-year-old forward is yet to play for the Blues so far this season, having undergone surgery on an ankle injury sustained during international duty earlier in the summer.

However, Hazard was recalled to the Belgium squad by Roberto Martinez last week and is now ready to make his Premier League return as well.

Conte remains unsure over whether he’ll start the player, but was pleased to confirm he could call upon him for the testing trip the King Power Stadium.

‘No injury problems – some (players) could be tired, but it is normal. All the players are available and I’m happy for this,’ the Italian said at his press conference this afternoon.

‘Now Eden is available and is in the list for the game tomorrow. He is in the squad he is improving a lot. He worked very strong to be ready.

‘I think now I can count on him but I have to decide the right moment and the right minutes, but for sure he is available.

‘When there is a bad injury and there is surgery it is normal to pay attention to his recovery. Don’t forget Eden is an important player for us and it is important (for him) to play soon.’

Hazad scored 17 goals for Chelsea in all competitions last season, and has regularly shown himself to be one of the club’s most important players during his time at Stamford Bridge.
