Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour marked his debut for the club’s Under-18 side with a wondergoal from the edge of the area against rivals Arsenal.

The 16-year-old joined the Blues from Rangers this summer, arriving at Stamford Bridge as one of the country’s most highly rated prospects.

Chelsea fans may have to wait a while before they see Gilmour in their first-team, but he’s given them a glimpse of things to come with a superbly-taken strike against Arsenal.

The Scottish midfielder posted the video to his Twitter page yesterday, and seemed justifiably proud of his effort that helped his side to a 2-0 win over the Gunners.

He previously tweeted after the game: ‘Happy to make my league debut in a 2-0 win against Arsenal & to grab a goal.’

Chelsea don’t have the best record of promoting players from their academy, but will surely be keeping a close eye on Gilmour’s progress after fighting to bring him to west London this summer.

The teenager’s promise also sparked interest from other big clubs before he ultimately chose Chelsea, and he’s clearly settling in well.
