Liverpool fans’ desire to sign Virgil van Dijk has reached new levels after a supporter confronted the club’s principal owner John W Henry at a baseball game.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ultimately failed to land the Dutch central defender this summer and were forced to publicly drop their interest and issue an apology after Southampton threatened to report Liverpool to the Premier League for an alleged illegal approach.

Liverpool are expected to reignite their interest in Van Dijk and one American fan demanded to Henry that the player is signed in the next window.

‘Sign Virgil van Dijk in January!’ shouted the Liverpool fan.

‘It’s the right thing to do.

‘He wants to play for us.’

Unfortunately for the supporter, Henry showed no acknowledgement towards his request.
