Serge Aurier is quickly endearing himself to his new Tottenham fans with his antics both on and off the pitch.

The Ivory Coast international made a barnstorming debut during Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and is quickly setting about establishing cult hero status.

Aurier represented something of a controversial signing given his brushes with the law during his time in France and run-in with former manager Laurent Blanc.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed he was willing to take a chance on the 24-year-old, insisting everyone is deserving of a second chance but he may well be forced to keep close tabs on his new signing’s social media activity after his latest antics.

Ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League match against Swansea on Saturday, Aurier got in touch with his former PSG teammate David Luiz and branded the curly-topped Chelsea defender ‘ugly’.

It looks as though the Brazil international took the jibe in good spirits judging by the broad smile that adorned the Brazilian’s face, but fireworks could well fly when the two next meet on the pitch.
