Arsene Wenger provided an update on injuries suffered by Calum Chambers and Theo Walcott during Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat of Doncaster Rovers.

The Gunners made 11 changes from the side which held Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge last weekend, with the likes of Reiss Nelson and Jack Wilshere handed starts for the EFL Cup third round clash.

Chambers also made his first appearance of the campaign but was forced off at half-time with a hip problem and Wenger believes the defender could be out for up two weeks.

Asked about the injury after the victory, Wenger said: ‘Chambers is injured again on the hip.

‘It doesn’t look too bad, but I think he will be about again for one or two weeks.’

Theo Walcott also received a knock at the Emirates, and was replaced by Alex Iwobi in the 76th minute, but the forward looks set for an immediate return to action.

Wenger said: ‘He had a kick behind his knee at half-time.

‘In the second half he got another kick, I don’t think it’s big.

‘It looks just like a kick, not more than that.’
