There is a mouth-watering contest in the Champions League on Wednesday night as Atletico Madrid host Chelsea in Group C of the competition.

The two sides have been embroiled in a transfer saga over the summer with Diego Costa finally getting his wish and returning to Atletico, the club Chelsea bought him from in 2014.

The Spain international will not be on the field for either side on Wednesday, though, so focus will be on the likes of Alvaro Morata and Antonie Griezmann.

Chelsea opened their Champions League campaign with a rampant 6-0 win over Qarabag, whilst Atletico drew 0-0 with Roma.

Team news

David Luiz’s wrist injury makes him a doubt for the contest, although he is likely to play with some strapping taking care of it.

Danny Drinkwater will have to continue to wait for his Chelsea debut as his calf strain has still not cleared up.

Atletico are pretty injury-free – neither team will be fielding Diego Costa, obviously.
