The FA have confirmed Jose Mourinho will not be charged for his dismissal against Southampton on Saturday.

The Manchester United boss was sent to the stands by referee Craig Pawson in the closing stages of his side’s 1-0 win over Southampton.

Mourinho encroached onto the pitch, leaving his technical area, and forcing Pawson to dismiss the United boss.

Fourth official, Mike Jones, alerted Pawson to the infringement and the referee swiftly issued Mourinho with his marching orders with just minutes left in the game.

Mourinho was not abusive to any of the officials and left his dugout without a fuss, meaning the FA do not see any reason to hand out further punishment.

Mourinho has a history with the FA and has served multiple bans, but the Portuguese did not confront the officials during or after the game.

Pawson handed in his match report which has been assessed by the FA.
