Alvaro Morata has pulled out of Spain’s squad for their upcoming clashes with Albania and Israel.

The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, was forced off in the first-half of the side’s 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City with a hamstring injury on Saturday.

Morata had tests on his hamstring on Monday and it was discovered that the in-form striker has suffered a grade two hamstring strain.

Following the tests, it was officially announced that Morata, as well as Dani Carvajal and Andres Iniesta, had withdrawn from Spain’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
