Sergio Aguero is likely to miss six weeks of action for Manchester City, according to Argentina’s national team doctor, Donato Villani.

The City striker broke a rib in a car accident last week and was expected to be out between two and four weeks.

But, Villani believes Aguero is much further away from returning to the pitch.

‘He’s feeling very bad because he was really looking forward to coming to play and this incident, which had nothing to do with him, left him out of the two games,’ he told Tycsports.

‘He’s going to be off the pitch for a month and a half.

‘He can’t move in his house, nor get in and out of the car.

‘He seemed very down to me because he wanted to be here.’

Club football is currently on hiatus with the international fixtures taking center-stage.

Aguero’s injury rules him out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador.

City do not play again until October 14 against Stoke and the Sky Blues were hopeful Aguero would be back in time for the match, but that now looks unlikely.

Should Aguero miss six weeks, he will be unavailable for the visit of Arsenal on November 5.

The absence of Aguero could act as a huge blow to City’s title hopes, with Pep Guardiola’s side currently top of the Premier League table.

Aguero has scored six goals in six league appearance for City this season and had four goals in three games before sustaining the rib injury.

The Argentine’s form was so impressive, he had scored of assisted eight goals in just three league games.
