Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger cannot win the Premier League title with this current squad, according to former ‘Invincible’ Lauren.

The Gunners haven’t made the best of starts to this season and already find themselves six points behind leaders Manchester United and City.

Lauren formed part of an Arsenal side that notably went a whole league season without losing a single game back in 2003/04, but the former Gunners defender is less optimistic about their prospects this year.

Discussing Arsenal’s title hopes with the Daily Mirror, the former Cameroon international gave three reasons he felt they would struggle.

‘The first is that he doesn’t have those seven or eight players who are fighting for him,’ Lauren explained.

‘The second factor is that there are so many teams looking to win the league – five or six of them.

‘And the third factor is that – with all my respect – we miss something in the dressing room. We miss something that drives teams to win and challenge for the Premier League – some leadership from inside.

‘Nowadays, people are not fighting for the solution, they are not fighting for the flag, fighting for the whole institution.

‘I’m talking about people in general, not just Arsenal. People are more selfish and looking more for individual success, rather than whole club.’
