Harry Kane has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Tottenham and moving abroad in the future, though insists he is happy playing for the north London club at the moment.

The 24-year-old is currently on international duty with England and will wear the captain’s armband in Thursday night’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at Wembley.

Kane has become a key player for both club and country, winning the Premier League’s Golden Boot in back-to-back seasons, and has been increasingly linked to a host of top clubs.

Manchester United were believed to be interested over the summer, Antonio Conte named him as the striker he would most like to sign and now Champions League holders Real Madrid have also been linked.

And while Kane was keen to underline how happy he is at Tottenham, the club he also supports, he admitted he would not rule out a move abroad – though not any time soon.

Asked if he wanted to play abroad, Kane said during an England press conference: ‘I would never say no or yes. You’d not rule out anything.

‘It’s not something I definitely want to do, but you never rule anything out. I’m very happy here [at Tottenham], but we’ll see what happens.’

Kane was able to pick the brains of two England legends this week, with Sir Bobby Charlton visiting St George’s Park, while Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate also invited old teammate Alan Shearer to meet the players.

‘It was great – great to hear from him,’ said Kane.

‘I think the lads were attached to him telling the stories not just about England but about his whole career, what he’d come through, the ups and downs along the way.

‘We spoke about penalties, we spoke about a lot of stuff.

‘It was just great to have an England legend, really, coming, giving his experience and what he’s been through.’
