Antonio Conte is once again considering his future at Chelsea, with the Italian thinking about quitting the Premier League champions at the end of the season and returning to his homeland.

The former Juventus boss had an incredible first season in charge of the Blues, lifting the title, but there were rumours throughout the summer that he was not entirely happy in west London.

Although he signed a new contract, it only increased his pay rather than extend his deal – meaning he is still due to leave Chelsea by 2019 and has so far refused to extend it beyond that date.

And now The Sunday Express say he is pining for Italy once again, with the 48-year-old growing frustrated with a number of issues at the club.

Conte felt he was not sufficiently backed over the Diego Costa saga, while he has lacked support in the transfer market as the club either ignored, or missed out on, a number of his preferred targets.

He would have no trouble finding a new club, with a number of top sides in Italy aware of his situation and ready to offer him an escape route.

AC Milan and Inter were both interested in trying to prise him away from Stamford Bridge during the summer, and the former especially remain keen following an underwhelming start to the new campaign.

Speaking to Italian radio earlier this year, Conte hinted at desire to return home, saying: ‘Italy is my homeland. I’ll be back. I don’t know when but that’s the aim.’

Chelsea have made a solid, if unspectacular, start to the new season, currently lying in fourth place after losing to Manchester City, but won both their Champions League ties so far.
