Marcus Rashford provided one of very few highlights for England in a lacklustre 1-0 victory over Lithuania on Sunday evening.

The 19-year-old Manchester United forward has impressed for both club and country in recent weeks and was in a confident mood with the pressure off at the Vilniaus LFF Stadium.

Tottenham hero Harry Kane, who found the winner for England versus Slovenia in midweek, continued his incredible scoring streak with a penalty to put Gareth Southgate’s men 1-0 in front in the 27th minute.

Not long after Kane’s opener, Rashford was keen to capitalise on England’s momentum and embarrassed two Lithuania defenders before having his powerful shot saved.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright claimed Rashford was the only England star playing with any confidence in the lead-up to kick-off.

The ITV pundit said: ‘Players are playing with fear. The most pressure these guys get is when they play fro England.

‘I can’t think of a game when they get forward. Apart from Rashford, everyone else looks petrified.’
