Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose wants to join Manchester United and will reject interest from Chelsea to move to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The England international is yet to feature for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season because of injury but Ben Davies has performed admirably in his absence.

Rose was fined two weeks’ wages in the summer after criticising the club’s wage structure and revealing he would consider offers to leave the club.

Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the defender and believes Rose could solve United’s long-term issue at left-back.

Antonio Conte wanted to sign Rose as a left-wing back last summer but the former Leeds man would prefer to join United, according to the Daily Star.

United value Rose at around £45m and are hopeful of concluding a deal for the full-back before the World Cup.

Rose’s arrival is likely to mean the end of Luke Shaw’s career at Old Trafford and United are likely to cash in on the former Southampton man – who will have 12 months left on his contract by that point.
