Arsenal star Mesut Ozil wants to remain in the Premier League for at least another two years, according to his agent.

The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to discuss terms with a foreign club once the transfer window reopens in January.

Despite Arsenal having prospered in recent weeks without Ozil, who is recovering from a minor knee injury, Arsene Wenger has voiced his desire to keep the former Real Madrid star at the Emirates Stadium beyond the current season.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring Ozil’s situation, including Manchester United and Serie A giants Inter, but Ozil’s representative Dr Erkut Sogut insists talks over a new Arsenal deal are progressing well.

‘Ozil wants to play another 2-3 years in the Premier League,’ Sogut told Turkish outlet Fanatik.

‘Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well.’
