Mauricio Pochettino claims Manchester United and Manchester City have a major advantage over Tottenham in the transfer market.

Pep Guardiola spent over £200 million to revamp his City team this summer, while Jose Mourinho needed over £140m to bolster his squad ahead of United’s Premier League title push this season.

Pochettino spent around £80 million on five new additions, while Tottenham have also been able to tie down their key players such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli to long-term contracts.

But the Spurs manager believes United and City still have the capability to make any signing they want.

‘The difference these days between clubs in the Premier League is that there are clubs, like City and United, who sign who they want and when they want,’ Pochettino told beIN Sports.

‘Then there are big teams, like us, who sign when we can and who we can.

‘It’s the big difference today.’
