Adrien Rabiot is growing increasingly frustrated at a lack of progress over a new Paris Saint-Germain contract, according to reports in France.

The elegant midfielder has emerged as a key member of Unai Emery’s Ligue 1 pacesetters and has featured in every game so far this season.

Despite his increased role, L’Equipe claim Rabiot, 22, a regular France international, is yet to commence talks over a new deal and is concerned that the French club haven’t kick-started the process.

Earlier this month Rabiot admitted he dreamed of playing in the Premier League and name-checked Liverpool as the club he supported in his youth.

He said: ‘I think I would like to experience something else [outside Ligue 1],’ Rabiot stated.

‘There are a lot of very good championships, it’s also very rewarding to go elsewhere.

‘I would love to play in the Premier League, not necessarily one club in particular, even though I was very fond of Liverpool when I was young.’

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been long-term admirers of Rabiot and are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements with current first choice pair Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny failing to convince.

PSG, meanwhile, have been credited with an interest in Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante in recent weeks and are expected to enter the running for Monaco’s £75million-rated Brazil international Fabinho next summer.
