Chelsea star Marcos Alonso has warned his team-mates to be wary of Roma striker Edin Dzeko at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Blues have had the perfect start on their return to the Champions League, with victories over Qarabag and Atletico Madrid, but their form in the Premier League has dipped massively.

Following Chelsea’s dismal 2-1 defeat away at Crystal Palace, Alonso believes his team must take extra caution when dealing with former Manchester City man Dzeko this week.

Asked for Roma’s most dangerous player, the ex-Fiorentina ace responded: ‘They have a very strong team.

‘We have to give 100 per cent.

‘If I had to single out one player it would be Dzeko. We have to be very careful tomorrow.’

Alonso is confident that Alvaro Morata is ‘ready’ to face Roma after returning to training following a hamstring injury.

He said: ‘He’s ready. He’s been training very well. I don’t know if he’ll be in the starting XI but he’s been working well.

‘He’s been a very important player for us. If he plays I’m sure he will be as good as he was at start of the season.’

Roma are sitting second in Group C drawing with Atletico Madrid and defeating Qarabag where Dzeko scored his opening goal of the competition.
