Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville hailed Antonio Valencia during his former side’s win against Benfica, describing him as a ‘wonderful’ right-back.
Valencia, 32, played at right wing in front of Neville before the former England international’s retirement in 2011.
The Ecuador captain has developed into a full-back in the last two seasons and, despite initially struggling, he’s now one of the finest right-backs in the league.
Valencia helped United to a ninth clean sheet in 12 matches so far this season during their 1-0 win against Benfica on Wednesday.
And Neville was quick to take to Twitter during the clash to pile praise on Valencia.
The 32-year-old then responded following the match, calling Neville a ‘football legend’.
United strolled to a 1-0 win thanks to Marcus Rashford’s second half free-kick.
The Red Devils have a 100% record in the Champions League this term and will finish top with a win against Benfica in a fortnight’s time.
