Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Monaco youngster Ruben Vinagre, according to reports in Portugal.

Vinagre, 18, is yet to make an appearance for Monaco’s first-team and was sent on loan to Championship outfit Wolves in the summer transfer window, with the hope of securing regular playing time under compatriot Nuno Espirito Santo.

The left-back has impressed at Molineux, scoring one goal in eight appearances, and his form has put several top English clubs on red alert ahead of the January transfer window.

Record suggest both Arsenal and United are expressing a strong interest in Vinagre but Monaco are determined to keep hold of the highly-rated teenager

The defender has made three appearances for Portugal’s Under-19 team and won the European Championships with the U17 side last year.

It’s understood Everton are also weighing up a move for Vinagre.
