Georginio Wijnaldum missed out on the matchday squad that traveled to Tottenham on Sunday due to a knee injury.
The midfielder did not even make the bench for the Tottenham game at Wembley and fans were left confused as to the whereabouts of one of their regulars.
But, Liverpool were quick to reveal that Wijnaldum had picked up a knee injury with Marko Grujic taking his spot on the bench.
James Milner kept his place in the starting eleven thanks to the injury, but the Netherlands’ absence will be worrying for Liverpool fans.
The Reds are already without Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana and will be hopeful it is not a serious issue.
Liverpool have yet to confirm how long they expect Wijnaldum will be out for.
Wijnaldum has missed just one other Premier League game for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool have a tough task playing Tottenham at Wembley, but Spurs do not have the greatest of records in their temporary home.
Tottenham have won just once there this season in the league and Liverpool will be eager to move up the table after a disappointing start to their league campaign.
