Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has given his side a huge boost by returning to first-team training.

The Ivorian has been out of action for nearly three weeks after sustaining an injury on international duty with the Ivory Coast.

United kept clean sheets at Liverpool and Benfica without Bailly but an injury to Phil Jones at Huddersfield exposed United’s defence and they lost 2-1 to David Wagner’s side.

Mourinho’s without the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick for Saturday’s clash against Tottenham but Bailly looks set to return.

The defender posted a photo on Instagram today alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David De Gea.

‘Feeling good after today’s training session,’ said Bailly.

United face Swansea City in the League Cup tonight before hosting Mauricio Pochettino’s men and Mourinho will be hoping to have a full defence available to deal with the in-form Harry Kane.

The Red Devils then face a daunting trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge the following weekend, looking to avenge their 4-0 defeat against the Blues last season in west London.
