Arsenal got their Premier League campaign back on track with a 5-2 thumping of Everton last weekend and should be full of confidence heading into Saturday’s clash with Swansea.

There remains a sense of gloom around the Emirates but the Gunners have lost just once in their last 11 matches in all competitions and beat Norwich 2-1 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez started together for the first time at Goodison Park and will, most likely, be named in Arsene Wenger’s XI against the Swans.

Eddie Nketiah announced himself to Arsenal fans in style with a brace versus Norwich in midweek, while Jack Wilshere completed 114 minutes as the match went to extra-time.

With Granit Xhaka still flattering to deceive during his second season in north London, it’s surely time to give Wilshere the nod from the start.

Defence

Shkodran Mustafi  remains on the sidelines for the Gunners so Nacho Monreal, Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny will keep their places in Wenger’s back-three.

With Monreal taking up his position in the centre, Sead Kolasinac has next to no competition at left-back and will start at the Emirates barring an injury.

Mathieu Debuchy started against Red Star Belgrade and Norwich, but struggled with the pace of the game on Tuesday evening, meaning Bellerin is still far and away Arsenal’s first-choice right-back.

Midfield

Arsenal’s ‘British core’ took a battering in the summer, with both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs leaving the club, but Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey could play alongside each other on Saturday afternoon.

The last time they started a match together was in a 0-0 draw with Sunderland back in May 2015 and Wenger may be tempted to throw Wilshere in at the deep end this weekend.

After impressing in Arsenal’s cup competitions this term, Wilshere will be begging for his manager to roll the dice – Xhaka is undoubtedly beginning to worry for his place.

Attack

The Gunners looked an attacking force capable of competing with the best when they tore Everton to shreds last weekend.

Lacazette, Ozil and Sanchez – arguably the three most high-profile players at the club – were untouchable and, with Danny Welbeck out injured, Wenger will opt for the same front line on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud, who won the Puskas Award in midweek, may be waiting a while for his next start in the Premier League.
