Jurgen Klopp hopes to welcome back Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana to first team action after the upcoming international break.

Mane made an electric start to the new campaign before succumbing to a hamstring injury he picked up playing for Senegal earlier this month, while Lallana has missed the entire season due to a thigh injury he suffered in pre-season.

‘After the international break Lallana and Mane should be back,’ said Klopp ahead of Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield.

‘Hopefully they can be part of normal training in that break.’

‘Lallana did warm-ups for the first time with the team. It looks good.’

Klopp did, however, reveal that Philippe Coutinho is a major doubt for the match against David Wagner’s side, who last week ended Manchester United’s unbeaten start to the season.

‘It’s not clear in the moment,’ said Klopp on Coutinho’s injury.

‘Last week he had some back problems before the Tottenham game, but then during the week it settled with treatment and all that stuff, so he was fit for the game.

‘This week he had a little bit of problem with the adductor. It’s not clear so far if he is out for tomorrow. We will make the decision today after training.

‘He didn’t train yesterday, that’s true, but that’s all for the moment.’
