Arsene Wenger has revealed that Sead Kolasinac has suffered a recurrence of his hip injury during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

The Gunners fell behind after Sam Clucas opened the scoring but Kolasinac pulled Arsenal level in the second half.

The Arsenal left-back then turned provider seven minutes later to set up Aaron Ramsey for the winning goal.

Kolasinac was forced off with 12 minutes remaining and Wenger has revealed that the defender’s hip problem, which flared up during the last international break with Bosnia, is to blame.

Kolasinac was expected to be rested for Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday but the defender will need to be assessed before the trip to Manchester City next Sunday.

“It’s a hip problem, it’s a tight muscle in his hip,’ said Wenger.

‘How long will he be out? I don’t know, we hope to get him fit for next Sunday.

‘He had the problem before and we managed to get him always available.’
