Alvaro Morata has never scored against Roma in his career, despite having played five times against the Italian side.

The Chelsea striker has never even provided an assist in those five games against Roma and drew another blank in the 2-2 draw with the Serie A team last week.

Morata and his team-mates travel to Italy for the away fixture of their Champions League group game on Tuesday night.

Antonio Conte is set to play a strong side with top spot still up for grabs and Morata is hopeful his team-mate, Eden Hazard, can help him get off the mark against Roma.

‘Against Roma I never scored before,’ Morata said in the pre-match press conference on Monday.

‘We try to do this tomorrow. I play five games, maybe completely 1-2, tomorrow I try to score.

‘Hazard, we have a good understanding, he is one of the best in the world. We just need to play more games.’

Hazard and Morata are just beginning to familiarize themselves with one another in their first season together at Chelsea.

Conte has been frustrated by injuries to his main players with Morata and Hazard falling foul of knocks this season.

Chelsea’s league form has suffered as a result, but their Champions League efforts have been excellent.
