Orestis Karnezis is being labelled the worst reserve goalkeeper ever after his arrival was soon followed by the concession of three goals.

The Watford understudy came on in the 59th minute of the Premier League clash with Everton after an injury to first-choice Heurelho Gomes. At the time his side were 1-0 up through Richarlison.

Five minutes later it was 2-0 to the visitors at Goodison Park thanks to a Christian Kabasele goal and Watford looked to be certain to win the match. But then it all went wrong.

Oumar Niasse pulled one back and then Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised for struggling Everton.

The dramatic comeback was complete when in the 91st minute Karnezis failed to stop a Leighton Baines penalty.

Incredibly, the drama wasn’t over as in the 10th minute of injury time Watford were awarded a penalty. But former Evertonian Tom Cleverley dragged his effort wide of the post.

Watford fans were not happy…

While Watford fans raged, the result will come as a huge relief to Everton who jumped out of the relegation zone with the win.
