Roman Abramovich has held talks over securing a £500 million investment for Chelsea, according to reports.

The Sun have claimed that Chelsea’s hierarchy met with a group of Chinese investors last week at Stamford Bridge.

And the consortium from the Far East are ready to spend £500m on costs to redevelop Chelsea’s new stadium.

The report also claims that Abramovich is not looking to sell any part of Chelsea to the Chinese group, but the Russian billionaire is exploring ways to help finance the club’s new ground.

Chelsea’s new stadium plans were given the green light by the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, in March.

The new stadium, which will be built on Stamford Bridge’s existing site, will have a new capacity of 60,000.

The ground could be ready by the 2021-22 season but Chelsea would need to leave Stamford Bridge while the stadium is being built.
